The staff at Northern Paws is as kind as it comes. Owners Dar and Gary Machler and Dawn and Pete Roth are incredibly proud and lucky to have these animal-loving, passionate, and motivated folks show up to work every day. Get to know a little about them here:
Taylor
“I would own a hundred dogs if I could, so the lodge is a great way to pretend I actually have that many.”
Taylor and her dog Buddy spend their time volunteering at the dog park and going for long walks by the river. She enjoys helping the shy and nervous animals feel safe and welcome at the pet lodge and loves seeing their tails wag when they recognize her at the front door.
Lisa
“I love getting to be a pet’s family while they are away from their own.”
Lisa, our fabulous groomer, has been with Northern Paws for 11 years. She enjoys seeing the transformations that happen to the dogs after they are groomed as well as meeting all the kind and caring pet parents.
Brenda
“I love when our new guests aren’t sure of us, but leave all waggly!”
Brenda takes the reservations at Northern Paws. She can’t help but be joyful when she watches the pups run in our beautiful play yard.

Pam
“I treat each pet as my own and feel that, while mom and dad are on vacation, the kids should be too!”
Pam is recently retired from working 36 years in healthcare and is enjoying her part-time work now at the lodge. She spends her free time with her granddaughter, quilting, volunteering and helping her husband on their dairy farm. She takes great pride in the amount of care and love she provides to the animals entrusted in her care.
Erica
“Spending my days throwing tennis balls, watching the dogs love every second at Northern Paws, brings a smile to my face.”
Erica and her dog Herman spend their time outdoors, camping and fishing or going for long walks. She loves playing ball and splashing in the pool with the dogs and also feels very comfortable leaving Herman at the lodge when he can’t go with her because she knows how well they will care for him.
